Leonel Sousa aka Spatial White Noise debut on MiMi Records with some songs recorded in his bedroom in 2002. Seven years later, he decided to take his songs out of the drawer and the result is this “Alphajerk”, a dreamy and impressive electronic ambience with some delicate acoustic guitar, twinkly songs falling between folk and electronica. A beautifully processed voice featuring on several tracks brings a slight folk element to the equation. Truly brilliant! Feel free to download and listen...

Bacalhau com Todos (literally meaning "cod with everything” in Portuguese) is a common bacalhau recipe in Portuguese cuisine. It consists of boiled cod, boiled vegetables (such as potato, chick peas, onions, carrots and cabbage), and hard boiled eggs. It is served seasoned with olive oil infused with garlic and, depending on taste, also white wine vinegar. Gorge yourselves!

[mi265] : Momentum II - The Phantom Limb Pain The Phantom Limb Pain is the newest album of the ambient project, Momentum II. On this album, Momentum II shows her more minimalistic approach, textured ambient compositions, layered with field recording and with occasional noise modulation. The music of 1869's project EP 'Bangaihen" is ambient/drone spectrum, with a light touch of field recordings used in the last track. This three track EP is a great example of the artist's style, slowly developing a texture of a few motives, that are repeating throughout the tracks. "Bangaihen" is a very simple ambient album, made by a guy who loves to create new ambient music. All tracks were made spontaneously and improvised. Nothing hyper conceptual, but still well structured...

The music of oculoss is mainly of an atmospheric nature. Sometimes less is more, making his music ideal for listening while working, sleeping or doing other things. In "Parallel Path" oculoss explores texture, consistency, and a type of variety that could be called subtle. This is not the utopian ambient of the typical soundscape artist. This EP is serious music for serious people. http://www.clubotaku.org/mimi/uk/album264.php http://www.clubotaku.org/mimi/

Born in the United Kingdom of Portuguese parents, Dawn Mendonça is an artist who has experimented with painting, photography, writing and music. "comune" offers a collection of four meditative piano pieces so extraordinarily beautiful that you won’t believe it. This is dreamy and wistful music that somehow seems to be staring off into the distance, only occasionally waking with a start to the quirky calling of a wrinkle from the real world. These pieces just seem to unfold, taking the listener at once to a deeper, yet buoyant place within them and each leaves you with the anticipation of the next. And I hope this has left...

isos offers a collection of 7 simplistic, beautiful and sad piano pieces. Haunting, contemplative and understandably. If you are a lover of Eric Satie, Debussy or perhaps even Phillip Glass you will find this worth a listen. This album is a testament to the fact that a truly wonderful song needs nothing else to make it special. Although not every song shines, every one of them has something unique about it. That makes this EP grand. Only one piano creates true emotion, and unique songs....

Cocteau Twins created what is known as "Dream Pop"-- a very apt term. It's lush, rich, and layered with guitars and vocals on top of more guitars and vocals. Musical bliss is how I'd describe this "think blue, count two". It's atmospheric. It's rich. It's melodic. Play this one at bedtime and you will forget all about your troubles and have a pleasent night dreaming.

In this Cd, the music is a mixed of madness and creative horror of gummy bears. A final hope inside the Burlesque Scene, a victory of glamour, a voyer fetish behind the ordinary people, This is a punch in the middle of the eyes of the dogmatic civilization⦠The Cd bringâs an entire new philosophy centered in human souls without remorses of explicit sex acts and torture fantasies. We all live with our angel's and demons. This is what you produce ..we lived events of the real life. Art above...

The album untitled ambient bgm works by multidisciplinary artist Hugo Anaya, who composes under the name of EIEN. combines different elements troughout. Inviting us on a trip in to the composer's mind, from dark heavy synths to dreamy keys in the style of Boards of Canada, the album aims to pull together things he's passionate about. Even though it starts with a dark ambient track, it slowly climbs in to a more relaxed style, penetrating the listeners' mind. You will probably feel some...

"Lights" is a record which existes within self-confrontation. Even though the dominating aesthetics seems to be Post-Rock, different and suttle layers coexist under that front. It lives in confront because, although in an intangible manner, through every track runs a brutal force of tension that agravates with each crescendo, and it never diludes itself on the superficial placidity to where the music drives us. This is a journey that begins in melodic territory underlined by...

Ultra Fuckers are scum. But if there is a thing that Ultra Fuckers have taught me, it’s that not all scum is bad. It’s actually quite the opposite! This scum, led by Kawai Kazuki Langley, has come out of Osaka to show us their latest work. And they did it in the right time. The EP starts with the screaming madness of ‘mars sky’ (madness seems to be a defining trait of Osakan musicians), that gives place to a minute and eighteen seconds of an ethereal harmonica of ‘evening after...

Four tracks of an anime melting pot culture which proves that he never met Miku Hatsune. There's brake noise, otaku quotes, industrial beats and much more. mambo anime album is an excellent album with many the fucked up sounds that it’s borderline mentalism that will turn every sensible human being into a frenzied lunatic ready for the asylum. There are quite a lot of figures out there who make noise, but non have the persona as Youko Heidy. Only for open minded listeners!!!...

Field recording has been one of the very significant tropes in early twentieth century sound art. With a world of sounds to explore, many artists have been trailing the path originally laid by Pierre Schaeffer et al., and among these, two of the most prominent practitioners have been Luís Antero and Darius Ciuta, each with several releases to their own name and one previous collaboration, 57’ (2012). Their new collaboration, Antip (2015), a 75-minute work, brings together both artists’...

"The innovation of Oculoss isn’t just the mere obvious reference of the abstract concept of Science Fiction, but, in a more subtle manner than that, it is the Space that its captivating sounds claim to grow, in a slow winding way. The audition of Sound of An Acoustic Guitar is to experience the imperceptivity of a star like transfiguration: to be born out of the agitation of vacuum, to consolidate the physical existence and finally, to explode into vastness. The record starts with the...

The essence of Antipas Group remains intact. The original sound returns, sprinkled with amazing voices, catchy melodies and extremely imaginative lyrics. Antipas Group have a difficult style to describe, is relaxed and exuberant at the same time. "Gain a think" is a modern rock album consistent and addictive.

This is a little treasure. Lovely and relaxing mixture of electronic music. Nothing wild and energetic just smooth sound of glitch electronics and guitar. Also, her voice is sui géneris sounds like a angel. This is an album for relaxing in this frosty time of the year. "franshitai", is an electronic dreampop masterpiece that draws from classical music and electronica as well as minimalist pop. Highly recomended.

Z3R0's the sound of a highly computerized society. Z3R0 is a puzzle of sounds, timbres combined in various animated sequences, frames sovereign formally linear. These two tracks will go to our ears, make links and share emotions, and then move away slowly pursued his way in space and time, leaving room for other parts of life. This single shows the versatility of the machines can do. It is the powerful tool. Cut, paste, flip, change the resolution of "samples" are some of the hundreds...

Noise from Portugal's one disc full of the imprint's most zoned-out, experimental music from the Land of CR7. You'll find here projects like ocp,Bird Paradigma, ps and Ogata Tetsuo which have released their music on MiMi Records, and a few tracks of people who've never released on this netlabel. Noise from Portugal is a totally indispensable and essential recording that will be continued with more two volumes in a near future.

Four tracks were the guitar and the etnic roots (rythm, voice) are the main elements, giving a very "sui generis" soundscape. This surprise comes to us in the third and longest EP track where the guitar is faced and induced in a paranoid arcade game enviroment.
